Types of engine

Engine is a machine which converts chemical energy into mechanical energy to produce some work.here chemical energy is converted by combustion of fuel.

There are two types of engine on basis of combustion of fuel

1. IC Engine 

2. EC Engine 

IC engine 

Internal combustion engine 

When combustion of fuel takes place inside the engine it is defined as internal combustion engine.

Ic engines are used in vehicles, boats, ships, airplanes, and trains.

Classification of ic engine

EC engine 

External combustion engine 

When combustion of fuel takes place outside of the engine it defined as external combustion engine. 

Ec engines are used in powerplant. Ec engine is not more used in transportation.
